French Horn Lessons

The French horn, originating from bugles or hunting horns, is a brass instrument often used in orchestral music and arrangements. It has been incorporated into all fields of music, especially popular music. There is never an amateur orchestra/band that doesn’t need French horn players. It's certainly a good instrument to play if you want to be able to join an ensemble easily at a relatively low standard of playing.

To play French horn, you will learn techniques from our instructor for to play this brass instrument which include how to hold the horn; form proper embouchure & and changing pitch using your lips; how to play glissando, staccato, and accent notes, slurring notes, legato tonguing; fingerings; adjust French horn intonation with slides, and much more. You will also get maintenance tips for your horn, as well as some basic guidelines for creating a practice routine.

Like the oboe, French horn is probably one of the more difficult wind instruments to learn. Students need to find help for those most challenging and yet rewarding of musical instruments. If you are thinking to open yourself up to the possibilities and sing through the horn, register online or call today for help and to reserve a time slot that will work best for you and your family!
